How is this different from RPA?

Recorded RPA scripts break whenever a page changes, which is why most RPA estates end up in a maintenance spiral. An agent adapts to a moved button. Maintenance is much lower, though it isn't zero, and we scope for that honestly.
Is it safe to let an agent use our systems?

Only with guardrails, which is most of what we build. A dedicated least-privilege service account, a disposable environment per run, a hard cap on actions, and human approval before anything irreversible. The agent proposes; a person approves.
When should we not use computer use?

Whenever a real integration exists. An API, a bulk CSV path, or read-only database access is faster, cheaper, and more testable every time. We check for all three before quoting this work, and we'll tell you if you don't need us.
What does it cost to run?
